OXIO 2024 Highlights

 

For OXIO, 2024 was a year of hard work, innovation and fun as we strengthened our Telecom-as-a-Service solution. Here is a short round-up of our highlights from the past 12 months.

Our company off-site

We started the year with an incredible trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where we brought the global OXIO team together to brainstorm and spend time together in the sun. From discussing OXIO’s 2024 goals and conceptualizing our core values to taking part in an epic team treasure hunt, we came together, had fun and made great memories.

Our team

Team OXIO grew by 40% in 2024. We welcomed several key new hires across many different teams including operations, telecom, infrastructure, and the C-suite. Notably, Angela Lim, formerly of AT&T, joined us as Chief Growth Officer, while Dan Steeves, from DISH Network, stepped into the role of VP of Infrastructure. With offices in New York, Mexico City and Montreal, our global team is bringing some of the best and most innovative minds in telecom, technology and SaaS together to fulfill OXIO’s mission of building the global network of the future. A huge welcome to our 2024 new hires. 

Our platform 

The past 12 months have seen powerful new updates to OXIO’s platform that give our customers even more freedom, flexibility and control to build the next generations of mobile experiences. Not only did we expand our TaaS platform to connect M2M/IoT devices globally, but we also added new features and functionality like our MVNO Dashboards, SIM inventory capabilities and expanded automations for M2M lines, to further bolster our Telecom-as-a-Service offering. 

Our network 

OXIO has significantly enhanced its wholesale network this year, most notably connecting our telecom core with AT&T, enabling seamless connectivity across North America on a borderless, multi-carrier network.

2024 saw OXIO complete the integrations of modern, carrier grade and cloud native Packet core, IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and Messaging core. This portfolio provides OXIO with the scalability, agility and architectural flexibility to support a multitude of global deployment configurations through a single operating model. With the upgrade of the core network, OXIO’s customers will be able to take advantage of all current and next generation voice, data and messaging services for the 5G era. 

In order to effectively monetize telecom services, we also completed the integration of a new digital monetization platform, MATRIXX, that converges rating, online charging and billing capabilities across all subscriber types, subscription models and payment methods, paving the way for automated billing & finance functions. 

Our customers 

OXIO has now activated nearly 2 million lines on our wholesale network. Over the past 12 months we have grown M2M lines by 2.3x and our consuming M2M lines have grown by 2.1x. We continue to work with exceptional customers across industries including fintech, M2M/IoT, lifestyle, retail and more – helping them create cutting-edge connectivity experiences for their customers and employees that enable them to open up new revenue streams and drive long-term customer satisfaction, retention and loyalty. 

Awards 

OXIO was named winner of the Telecoms Trailblazer category in the 2024 Tech Trailblazers awards,  celebrating our innovation and ability to deliver real business value to customers as a leading telecom start-up for the modern world. We were also named as finalists in the Network X Awards, the MVNOs World Congress Awards and the Fierce Network Innovation Awards, and while we didn’t win our categories, it was great to be recognized alongside some of the industries most innovative companies of 2024. 

Looking to 2025 

As we look to 2025 and the year ahead we will see a proliferation of innovative and highly customized connectivity experiences for people, machines and enterprises. The same one-size-fits-all approach to telecom no longer works in the modern world, and people now expect connectivity to be accessible, simple, cost-effective and personalized. As the telecom industry starts to welcome a new era of connectivity that is spearheaded by innovative and disruptive technologies, we’ll start to see real advancements to an industry that has been stifled and held-back by its legacy constraints. 2025 is poised to bring continued positive and lasting change to the telecom market and we’re here for it!
